Configure FTP sensor

Get started with your FTP sensor

Updated over a week ago

The SecurityHive honeypot provides a simple FTP server on default port 21. Using FTP for official file transfer can leave your data transmission exposed to many security attacks like; FTP Brute Force Attack, Packet Capture (or Sniffing), Spoof Attack and Port Stealing so it is usefull to know if anyone is interested in the FTP traffic on your corporate network.

NOTE: It is currently not possible to interact with the FTP server in order of uploading and downloading files.

Configure the FTP sensor

By default the FTP sensor is enabled and running on port 21. To fully disable the sensor, click on the dropdown and select no. After clicking the save button it will take a maximum of 5 minutes before the sensor is disabled on your honeypot.
